About the Case Converter
Every language and file format has its own naming style: camelCase in JavaScript, snake_case in Python and SQL, kebab-case in URLs and CSS. Converting a name between them by hand is error-prone. This converter splits your text into words, recognising spaces, underscores, hyphens and camelCase boundaries, then shows it in seven styles at once so you can copy the one you need.
What you can do
- See the same text as camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case, Title Case, UPPER CASE and lower case.
- Split existing identifiers such as getUserID or HTTPServer into sensible words before converting.
- Copy any single style with its own button.
When it works best
- Renaming a database column into the matching property name for your model.
- Turning a heading into a CSS class or a component name.
- Converting constants and environment variable names between styles.
Things to know
- Conversion happens in your browser.
- Punctuation other than underscores and hyphens is kept inside words, so remove dots or slashes first.
- Title Case capitalises every word, including short ones like and or of, and acronyms are lowercased after the first letter, so ID becomes Id.
- For URL slugs without accents, use the Slug Generator. To sort lines, use Sort & Dedupe Lines.
