About the Sort & Dedupe Lines

Lists pasted from spreadsheets, logs or emails are rarely in order and often contain repeats. This tool sorts lines alphabetically or by length, in either direction, and can remove duplicate and blank lines in the same pass. Alphabetical sorting follows your browser's language rules, so accented letters sit next to their plain forms instead of after Z.

Things to know

• Sorting runs in your browser.
• Duplicates must match exactly; lines that differ in case or have a trailing space are kept, so clean them with the Whitespace Cleaner first.
• Numbers are sorted as text, so 10 comes before 9 in alphabetical order.
• For comma-separated data with columns, convert it with CSV ↔ JSON instead.
